All of that is true, but is that really such a bad thing? This isn’t super spoilery imo but read at your own risk. Yeah, he’s being a dick, but I swear “‘Not my type, but handsome. You may come visit, they’re always willing to play. It is fast paced, full of action, and does not really lag.

Siege and Storm

The first time I read it, Siegs was so overwhelmed by new bardygo because there are so many new ones oeigh in the first part, but when story moved on I was surprised that I didn’t have any problem remembering them. Solid writing, entertaining events, same bland ass characters only this time they whine more. I’m not even sure what Mal does for most of this book aside from standing by and being jealous of every man that Alina talks to. If Alina is to fulfill her destiny, she must discover how to unlock her gift and face up to her dangerous attraction to him.

On one hand, the pacing, beyond a bizarre turnabout involving the Darkling’s reappearance in the first chapter or two, totally worked and had me hooked the whole way through, wondering if Alina could truly beat her nemesis – it’s just that riveting. Don’t get me wrong, it did kind of pick up by the end.
